Amelia, Umbria

I have only ever been here once and it was a hot July day when I went there with my husband and two children for a bit of an explore.  We were living in Italy at the time, so we were able to make it a day trip as we were based in northern Lazio at the time.

Amelia is a town and comune in the province of Terni in the region of Umbria in Italy.  The town is about 100 kilometres away from Rome.  I remember the day being lovely and sunny and rather warm.  I am craving a bit of warm weather at the moment.  I loved looking at these old photos again, so I felt inclined to share with you.

As you can see from the photos when we were walking around it was fairly deserted.

I decided to keep the words to a minimum and just focus on the images.

Have you ever been to Italy?  Do you have a favourite place?

  • Gorgeous – how incredibly empty the streets are though, or did you just manage to catch the right moment for photos? It’s a lovely place, so very Italian I can almost imagine myself back in the country. Thanks for linking up with #citytripping

    • Thanks Cathy. No the streets were that empty – there were hardly any people walking around at the time.

  • Fantastic photos – almost feels like I am there. I don’t know much about this town so thanks for the insight. #citytripping

    • Thank you for the photo compliment. You are most welcome 🙂
