On the shoreline of Lake Bolsena–the Bolsena/Gradoli side

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that for the first time this year I have been able to wear summer gear on a weekend – I’m sporting shorts, a tank top and my favourite Havaianas.

The recent typical English weather has made me long for sunny days and a bit of warmth so I thought I would share with you some pictures from the area where I spent over 7 years.

Given that it is summer, I wanted to write about the lake.  Lake Bolsena provided hours of enjoyment for my family.

Whether it was having a meal in a restaurant near the shore of the lake such as this one – Oasi del Pescatore.

youngsters are made to feel welcome…

Other times we have gone to eat meals at the Purgatorio.

The following photos are taken from a walk along the shoreline at Bolsena.

It is a very popular place for a passeggiata (the Italian social ritual of walking out in town and being seen in your best clothes).

After a walk it is then a good idea to pause for a while for a chat and a gelato.

You must really miss Italy Cathy – especially in the summer. I know I would/do! x 😉

    • Absolutely in the summer Janine as we had a non existent summer last year here in England. I miss just being able to throw on a t-shirt, shorts and flip flops or sandals. It is usually too cold here. I know you miss Italy Janine, and your blog is one of my favourites as you make such superb observations xx Buona domenica cara 🙂
