Occhio alla lingua–due spaghetti

The other day my husband felt like making himself some pasta.  He said I feel like ‘due spaghetti’ simply meaning a bowl of pasta.  He said that he has also heard used ‘due pennette’.  He told me that restaurants in Italy always have a pan of boiling water on the go ready to cook pasta.

Boy did that make me crave pasta.

Like the home-made fettuccine that we lovingly made and devoured rather quickly.

But penne is also a family favourite as well.

Do you have a favourite type of pasta?

I love spaghetti and bucatini and Angelo loves penne. I think the world divides into lovers of short pasta and lovers of long pasta.

Perhaps you are right Philippa. I think I have morphed into a short pasta lover as that is what our kids really like.

I like rigatoni but it’s difficult to find good rigatoni in the UK-some delicatessens have it. You’ve inspired me to make pasta for dinner Cathy-with loads of parmesan grated on top.x

That’s great news Anita. It’s perfect pasta weather here today, so enjoy :-)

I love pasta Cathy and eat it everyday – rigatoni, spaghetti, pappardelle depending on the sugo – in a quantity that would frighten your readers I’m sure!!! ;-) (E De Cecco…..rigorosamente! ). Just as well I’ve eaten already tonight. This post would make me very hungry. x

Well your comment made me smile Janine :-) We eat large portions as well! Pasta isn’t planned for our dinner tonight, but I am fairly sure I will do some pasta dish of some variety tomorrow instead!
