In this post in the series Snapshots from a Tourist in Italy, my Dad heads to Montepulciano.
We entered the gate to this mediaeval city with a single purpose – to visit the Talosa Cantine for our wine experience. With typical luck, Andrea, our guide, found a parking space just inside the Fortress gate.
The centre of Montepulciano is essentially a traffic free zone.
The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, or Duomo of Montepulciano has that rather ‘unfinished’ look, as seen in Arezzo at the Chiesa di S. Francesco.
This Museum would not be for the squeamish.
From our parking spot, we could take in the superb panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.
