Umbria is known as the ‘green heart of Italy’. These photos prove that in the summer sometimes the green of the countryside still remains.
I am heading off to Umbria tomorrow to have a couple of days in Orvietto. We have just had a day of rain and everything is looking greena and lovely again.
That’s super Debra. I hope you have a lovely time there, I’m pleased to hear that it is looking green and lovely again
Have a great time Debra. A weekend in Orvieto sounds a wonderful way to welcome the autumn.
I think you would be surprised at just how brown Umbria was this summer Cathy, even in the photos I took the other day. S told us they had five months with no rain and an empty well.
You are probably right Linda. This summer has been particularly harsh that is for sure.
I hope for everyone – plants, animals, people! – that Umbria will soon be at least as green as your beautiful photos Cathy!
I agree with you totally Janine
What lovely, hazy, summery, peaceful, deliciously lazy photos. Now I want to take a nap.
The Italian countryside has had that effect on me too Krista
Well that isn’t the case with me (or you by the looks of your website Michelle). Thanks for the blog compliment and for taking the time to comment. I greatly appreciate. I’m also a big fan of Lucca and the Garfagnana
Yes but as a Queenslander I am looking for those clear blue skies! xxx
We had a lovely big storm yesterday x
Clear blue skies are lovely indeed Lisa
