Umbrian countryside in the summer

Umbria is known as the ‘green heart of Italy’.  These photos prove that in the summer sometimes the green of the countryside still remains.

    I am heading off to Umbria tomorrow to have a couple of days in Orvietto. We have just had a day of rain and everything is looking greena and lovely again.

    I think you would be surprised at just how brown Umbria was this summer Cathy, even in the photos I took the other day. S told us they had five months with no rain and an empty well. :(
